Practice Closing April 30th, 2010

Karen Brooks, MD, will close her private practice in Austin, Texas, on April 30, 2010. 

Please read the letter Dr Brooks sent notifying patients of the change on April 17, 2010, as it includes referrals to local psychiatrists, instructions for release of records, and information on obtaining refills. 

Thank you for allowing us, Dr Brooks and her staff, to help care for you and your family. We hope to ease the transition to your next psychiatrist as much as possible.

Spring Break Hours

The office will be closed to appointments next week from Monday March 15, through Friday March 19. During this time messages will be retrieved daily by the office staff.

For the first part of Spring Break, Dr Walia will be taking call for Dr Brooks. If you need urgent assistance during that time, please contact the after hours service, MedLink, at (512) 323-5465 and they will direct your call. 

Dr Brooks will be taking call the second half of the week, starting on March 18, and will start returning messages that day.

Weather Policy

On days when bad weather affects Austin, the office will close if the Austin Independent School District cancels classes. You can keep up-to-date on area closings below. We will update this site should the office be closed tomorrow.
